Occurrence remarks Epiphyte on thick decaying tree trunk. Stems much branched, up to 120 cm long. Leaves thick fleshy, green with contrasting dark brown-green slightly impressed midrib and primary veins above, beneath pale green and with prominent brown-red midrib and veins. Mature fruits brownish-red, opening by 3 rather irregular valves and exposing the orange-yellow placenta tissue.
