Occurrence remarks | Liana, hanging down from 15 m height. Leaves leathery, upper side glossy, very dark green, lower side dull, greyish green. Young leaves brownish red, then getting light green. Young climbing branches have a fine fish-hook like indumentum making it rough in one way and helps mounting (like in Manniophyton fulvum). Wood and leaves with typical Annonaceae odour. Bracts (2-3) and sepals (6) pale green. Petals (6) brownish pink (skin-colour like) more yellowish at base, outer 3 with a light green rib in broader basal part. Anthers yellow-pink. Styles greenish grey, with some jelly on top. Flowers sweet fragrant. Sepals in fruit enlarged, palish green. Fruit ovoid, up to 44 x 43 x 36 mm, pale green, with blunt spines. |
