Occurrence remarks | Herb. Stipules pale reddish-green. Petioles reddish when young, turning brown-green with age with patent white or red hairs. Leaves pale to medium green above without a red margin, often scattered with a few erect white hairs, beneath pale green, nerves prominent, green. Peduncle pale green with short red hairs. Bracts wine-red. Flowers white, the upper-perianth-segment often with a red spot at the base on both sides, the spot sometimes nearly absent. Ovary olive-green as are the young fruits, sometimes wine-red, variously hairy, sometimes almost glabrous. Perianth segments with red hairs on the outer surface. Fruiting peduncle curved to the substrate, the actual young fruit erect. |
