Organism remarks	Herbs, 2.6 m high. Stems with c. 25-30 leaves, lower 1.6 m of stem only with sheaths. Leaves leathery, glossy, upper side dark green, lower side medium green. Basal bracts of inflorescence with a large patent darkish green appendage, other bracts incurved at apex, clasping buds. Buds purplish grey with purple margins. Sepals outside purplish grey, margins dark red, inside red. Labellum dark red, central part white, some yellow patches at the apex. Stamen white, anther pale yellow. Style white.
